This month our reading is from:
Philippians, Chapter 1 verses 3 - 6
I thank my God every time I remember you.
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your parnership in the
Gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Points to Ponder:
It's very sometimes to get used to having certain people always around. It becomes a habit to say 'hi' or 'how are you' without really bothering to wait for an answer.
We can get used to seeing someone in the same place, doing the same thing until we stop really seeing them, we just know that they are there.
I think that there are times when we need to stop
We need to stop and wait for the answer to the question 'how are you'.
That we need to stop and remember that the people around us are precious individuals, loved by God and as such, should be worth more to us than a quick 'hi'.
Maybe we should take that time to stop and think about how we are with others and make time to remind ourselves that the way we treat others may end up being the way we a treated ourselves....do we really want that?
Prayer:
Thank you Father that there are people around us, sharing our lives, sharing our workplaces, sharing our joys.
Help us to give them a bit more of our time and support and to remember that we are all part of your creation and that your love for us is unconditional.
Help us to reach out to our neighbours, workmates and friends and to remember that we need each other
Amen
